Baby Jo and I Escaped the Rain with The Great Bunny Train at the National Railroad Museum

Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets through US Family Guide and the National Railroad Museum to attend this event in exchange for this review. The thoughts and opinions below are entirely my own.

April showers are pouring down this weekend. We could have gotten bogged down by the gray skies, but instead we headed to the National Railroad Museum to hop aboard The Great Bunny Train!

Be sure to grab your umbrellas before you leave home. This is a popular event and you may find yourself across the street in special event parking. It’s a relatively short walk to the museum, though, so don’t let that deter you. You’ll be greeted by a host of friendly volunteers. The volunteers at the National Railroad Museum are always so friendly and helpful. You can tell they enjoy what they do. Image may be NSFW.

Meeting the Easter Bunny at The Great Bunny Train

Baby Jo and I got in line right away to visit the Easter Bunny, then headed to the Lenfestey Center to check out all of the arts, crafts and entertainment!

There were coloring stations, bean bag toss, bowling, scheduled entertainment and concessions. Check out the train exhibits while you’re there – exhibits are constantly being restored, and there are some very cool things to see! We crossed the parking lot to the Depot, where Baby Jo played with the train table. Older children can participate in an egg hunt in the depot. Find six different colored eggs and you win some candy!

I think I was more excited than Baby Jo about the train ride! They have two enclosed train cars for The Great Bunny Train and one of them is a double decker. We climbed our way to the top, listened to the conductor’s instructions and enjoyed two loops around the museum. It’s too bad that C wasn’t feeling well, because he would have loved it!
